Building Tip of the Week: Prepping a Fuel Tank

Posted by aerobeez On December - 10 - 2014

Hey pilots, welcome back for another installment of Pete’s Tip of the Week! We took a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, but now we have a new tip for those December builds out there! These tips will help give you the extra edge with that next build! Even if you don’t own an Aerobeez plane or have yet to take the first step into becoming an RC pilot, we want to help you improve your model building, set-up, and eventually flying skills.

So without further ado, today’s tip will focus on: Prepping a Fuel Tank

When installing your fuel tank it is good practice to mark off the different lines on the tank to avoid confusion when preparing for the maiden or any flight on your model. If you are using a fuel tank that is difficult to see through, hold the tank up to a light.  While lit, use a marker to write on the tank the actual lines to the engine, the vent, etc.

Once these marks have been made and labeled, the tank is ready to be plumbed and installed to the aircraft.

Thank you as always for reading Pete’s Tip of the Week and check back for more each week!
