Building Tip of the Week: Prepping the Servo Bays

Posted by aerobeez On October - 22 - 2014

Hey pilots, welcome back for another installment of Pete’s Tip of the Week! As always, these tips are intended to help with all types of model building, even if you don’t own an Aerobeez plane or have yet to take the first step into becoming an RC pilot. We want to help you improve your model building, set-up, and eventually flying skills.

So without further ado, today’s tip will focus on: Prepping the Servo Bays

On your servo bay installations, it is always best to drill 1/16 pilot holes.  Test fit your servo in all the bays.  Mark and drill 1/16 pilot holes.  Apply ONE drop of thin CA to each hole drilled.  Let the CA completely dry before installing your servo.  Do not use CA accelerator!  We do not want the CA to expand and fill the hole.  We just want the CA to absorb in the hole area.  When dried completely, this will provide a much stronger servo screw to wood strength.

Thank you as always for reading Pete’s Tip of the Week and check back for more each week!
